North Carolina's End-of-Grade tests measure the NC Standard Course of Study in reading and math for grades 3-8, with science in grades 5 and 8. High school students take End-of-Course tests in Biology, English II, NC Math 1 and NC Math 3, which count toward their final grade.
North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) and End-of-Course (EOC) tests, run by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
Tests are online unless a student has a documented need for paper. EOGs are given in the last 10 days of the school year; most students finish in about 120 minutes, with up to 180 minutes allowed in one day. The EOG is a multistage adaptive test that uses results from NC Check-Ins during the year. EOCs are fixed-form and given at the end of the course, with standard times from 120 minutes (Biology) to 180 minutes (Math 1 and Math 3).
EOC scores count for at least 20 percent of the student's final course grade, with limited exceptions such as first-year English learners. The grade 3 reading EOG is also linked to North Carolina's Read to Achieve program. NC Check-Ins are formative and not used for accountability.

Worksheets on any North Carolina standard, at the right grade, with an answer key. Regenerate at an easier or harder level for small groups.
Make a worksheet βPractice tests and quizzes that mix the question types students will see, with answer keys, ready to print or share.
Make a practice test βIn the parent-managed study portal, students practice in the real test style with hints, while parents keep answers behind a PIN.
See the study portal βNC Check-Ins during the year feed into the year-end EOG, so the reports you receive in fall and winter are a useful guide to what to practice. In high school, remember that EOCs count for at least a fifth of the course grade. The study portal generates EOG-style reading and math practice and EOC review for Math 1, English II and Biology, with answers behind your parent PIN.
Use the test generator for EOG- and EOC-style practice aligned to the NC Standard Course of Study: four-option multiple choice, technology-enhanced style items rewritten for paper, and short constructed responses with 2-point scoring guides. Build EOC review packets timed to the end of each semester.
