FAST is Florida's progress-monitoring test, written to the state's B.E.S.T. Standards for ELA and math rather than Common Core. Students in grades 3-10 take ELA Reading and grades 3-8 take math three times a year, so families see progress from fall to spring, not just one score at the end.
Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) and B.E.S.T. assessments, run by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE).
FAST is computer-adaptive, so questions adjust to each student. It runs in three windows: PM1 at the start of the year, PM2 in winter and PM3 in May. PM1 and PM2 are informational; PM3 is the end-of-year score used for accountability. In the 2025-26 fact sheets, ELA Reading sessions were 90 minutes at PM1 and PM2 and 120 minutes at PM3, and math was 80 to 120 minutes depending on grade and window. The B.E.S.T. Algebra 1 and Geometry EOCs were one 160-minute session with a break.
Passing the Algebra 1 EOC and the grade 10 FAST ELA Reading (at PM3) are Florida graduation requirements, and EOC scores count toward the course grade. Because PM1 and PM2 are informational, they are the ideal moments to spot gaps and practice before PM3 in spring.
Set Florida in your profile and everything is written to Florida's standards and test style.
Worksheets on any Florida standard, at the right grade, with an answer key. Regenerate at an easier or harder level for small groups.
Make a worksheet βPractice tests and quizzes that mix the question types students will see, with answer keys, ready to print or share.
Make a practice test βIn the parent-managed study portal, students practice in the real test style with hints, while parents keep answers behind a PIN.
See the study portal βBecause FAST happens three times a year, the PM1 and PM2 reports tell you exactly where your child is heading before the spring test that counts. Use those gaps to guide practice: the study portal generates B.E.S.T.-aligned reading passages with questions, math practice at your child's grade and short writing tasks, all with answers kept behind your parent PIN.
Use PM1 and PM2 data to plan reteach groups, then build B.E.S.T.-aligned practice sets with the test generator: benchmark-coded questions, a text-based writing prompt in argumentative or expository mode, and an answer key. Worksheets can be regenerated at a different level for students who need a stepping stone.
